The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization\u2019s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.\n \nThe certification, in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, focuses on every step of the hip and knee replacement process \u2013 from the pre-surgical orthopedic consultation to hospital or ambulatory surgical center admission, rehabilitation activities, and follow-up visits with the orthopedic surgeon.\n \nParkview Ortho Hospital, owned in partnership with Ortho NorthEast, underwent a rigorous on-site review earlier this year. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, as well as measurement experts and patients. The reviewers also conducted on-site observations and interviews.\n \n\u201cThe Joint Commission\u2019s Gold Seal of Approval is a testament to the world-class teamwork of the providers and co-workers at Parkview Ortho Hospital,\u201d said Julie Fleck, chief operating officer, Parkview Ortho Hospital, Parkview Surgery ONE and Parkview Sports Medicine, and senior vice president, ortho service line. \u201cA hip or knee replacement can improve both mobility and quality of life.
