It\u2019s Pollinator Day at the Fort Wayne Children\u2019s Zoo!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 1, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Children\u2019s Zoo invites guests to celebrate Pollinator Day on Friday, July 2 from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Various stations, including educational opportunities and interactive experiences, will be featured around the Zoo. This celebration is a great opportunity to learn more about the big impacts of small pollen transporters. Pollinator Day activities are included with paid Zoo admission.<\/p>\n

\u201cPollinator Day is the perfect chance for Zoo goers of every age to learn about the importance of pollinators,\u201d Teens for Nature Lead Emily Elliot said. \u201cThe teen volunteers have worked hard to plan a fun and interactive day as part of their Teens for Nature Leadership Program and they are excited to share what they have learned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teens for Nature is an exciting opportunity for 7th to 12th grade students to develop leadership and teamwork skills while volunteering at the Zoo. The program allows students to gain new experiences and friends, knowledge about nature and animals all while exploring the Zoo.<\/p>\n

The Fort Wayne Children\u2019s Zoo Teens for Nature Program is proudly sponsored by the AEP Foundation and Steel Dynamics Incorporated.<\/p>\n

About the Fort Wayne Children\u2019s Zoo<\/strong>
\nThe Fort Wayne Children\u2019s Zoo is northeast Indiana\u2019s largest tourist attraction, hosting more than 600,000 guests annually. The zoo was voted Indiana\u2019s #1 \u201cGotta-Do Summer Attraction\u201d and is consistently named one of the nation\u2019s Top Ten Zoos for Kids by national media outlets.<\/p>\n

The Zoo is a conservation leader, contributing annually to local, regional, and international efforts to protect wild animals and habitats. The Zoo cares for more than 1500 animals and participates in 63 cooperative species survival plans.<\/p>\n

As a self-supporting facility, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo receives no tax dollars for operations. The zoo\u2019s operations are funded entirely by earned revenue and donations.<\/p>\n

Zoo is open 9 am to 7 pm through August. Fall hours – September and October 9 am to 5 pm. Admission is $11 for kids 2 to 18; $15 adults.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
