On June 15, 2021, shortly before 1:45 am, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 400 Block of Eckart Street to a reported shooting.<\/p>\n

On June 15, 2021 Shortly before 1:45 Am Officers responded to the 400 Block of Eckart to a reported shooting.<\/p>\n

Upon officers arrival they located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with Non-Life Threatening Injuries.<\/p>\n

Officers were advised that the suspect was believed to have fled into a home on Eckart after the shooting took place.<\/p>\n

Officers made entry into the residence and attempted to check the house for the suspect and were not able to clear the basement safely and at this point they backed out of the house and secured a perimeter around the residence.<\/p>\n

Emergency Services Team along with Crisis Response Team and the Fort Wayne Police Air Support Units were called to the scene.<\/p>\n

Crisis Response Team members made numerous attempts to make contact with the possible suspect inside the residence.<\/p>\n

When all efforts to contact the suspect inside were exhausted Emergency Services Team introduced chemical agents into the residence. A short time later they then made entry into the residence and there was nobody found inside the residence<\/p>\n

This incident is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
