Leaders originally announced that a mask requirement would be in place at Citizens Square and all other municipally-owned buildings until July 4. <\/p>\n<p>Residents are encouraged to visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityoffortwayne.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.cityoffortwayne.org<\/a> where a link on the homepage contains health information about COVID-19 and what local services are available to help individuals and families in need of assistance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Allen County Board of Commissioners news release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Mask Wearing Requirement at County Buildings to End June 1, 2021<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Face coverings to be optional at Rousseau Centre &#038; Courthouse<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Allen County, Indiana (May 26, 2021) \u2014 The Allen County Board of Commissioners today announced that wearing masks at all County-owned buildings \u2014 including the Rousseau Centre and the Allen County Courthouse \u2014 will no longer be a requirement for visitors and employees beginning June 1, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>While the Courthouse is following the updated policy, exceptions will be possible if a need is determined by a judge or magistrate.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement coincides with a similar announcement made by Mayor Henry that face coverings at Citizens Square and all other Fort Wayne municipally-owned buildings will become optional on the same date.<\/p>\n<p>Ongoing vaccinations and reductions in local COVID-19 cases were contributing factors in lessening the mask requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The Allen County Department of Health is responding at a local level to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
