Preparation and Care of Annuals<\/strong>, Thursday, March 11, 6:00 pm
\nWith the arrival of spring, a gardener’s thoughts turn towards flowers, but growing a beautiful garden requires more than just sticking some seeds in the soil. In this program, you will learn about preparing your soil, checking and maintaining nutrient levels, and details of proper watering. You will also be introduced to some of the newest varieties of annuals available. Class instructor Bill Davis brings a lifetime of experience gathered over 50 years of working at Sandpoint Greenhouse. He also served on the Purdue Horticulture Board and has given numerous talks around the country. Ages: 12+. Registration deadline: March 5. Fee: $7, Conservatory Member Fee: $6.<\/p>\n

Springtime Floral Spray Workshop<\/strong>, Saturday, March 27, 9:30 – 11:00 am
\nConstructed of the finest silk and dried flowers and vines, you will be proud to welcome the return of spring with this arrangement for years to come. Rebecca Goetz, interior designer and owner of Design One, will show you how to create an elegant floral spray arrangement, suitable as a centerpiece, wall hanging, or other decorative application. All materials are provided but you may bring your own elements to personalize your wreath. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own gloves and clippers. Ages 18+. Registration deadline: March 15. Fee: $28, Conservatory Member Fee: $23.<\/p>\n

Yoga in the Garden, Wednesdays<\/strong>, March 24 – May 12, 5:30 – 6:30 pm
\nYoga revitalizes and renews your body-mind relationship through the regular practice of specific postures. Each posture enhances your self-awareness and deepens your capacity to grow and learn. This class is informed by the Iyengar tradition of Hatha Yoga, incorporating proper anatomical placement and kinesthetic understanding. Each session emphasizes proper breathing, alignment, and core use while inviting students to work at their own level in a mutually respectful and supportive environment. Wear loose, easy-to-move-in clothing and bring a mat and two cotton blankets. Extra props will be provided as needed. Erin Stewart, the Outreach Director for the Fort Wayne Dance Collective, has been practicing yoga for the past 10 years and teaching for 5 years. Ages 18+. Registration deadline: March 19. Fee: $69, Conservatory Member Fee: $58.<\/p>\n

Tai Chi in the Garden I & II<\/strong>
\nTuesdays, March 23 – May 11, 5:30 – 6:30 pm or
\nTuesdays, March 23 – May 11, 7:30 – 8:30 pm or
\nWednesdays, March 24 – May 12, 7:00 – 7:45 am
\nLearn to relax your body and focus your mind with the ancient art of Tai Chi. Tai Chi is gentle and graceful exercise to improve relaxation, health, and fitness. It is especially effective in reducing stress, which can bring relief for arthritis, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Your once-a-week sessions include meditative walks in the garden. The class focuses on the basics of the Sun (soon) form and is great for new students or those wishing to continue their studies. The classes will run through May 12. Instructor Sandy Gebhard offers more than 27 years of studying and teaching Tai Chi. She is certified by world-renowned Tai Chi master, Dr. Paul Lam. Ages 18+. Registration deadline: March 19. Fee: $59, Conservatory Member Fee: $49.<\/p>\n
