American Red Cross Offers CPR and First Aid Class in Spanish as part of Red Cross Month in March<\/strong>
\nRecognizes Need for Class in Community<\/em><\/p>\n

The American Red Cross of Northeast Indiana is excited to announce a community class in Adult, Child and Infant CPR and first aid in Spanish. The class will be held Saturday, March 20 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Red Cross, located at 1212 E. California Rd. in Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there at least 14,000 people in Allen County alone that speak Spanish or Spanish Creole. With the growing Spanish-speaking population in the region, the Red Cross recognizes the need to extend its lifesaving training opportunities to members of the non-English-speaking community. This Red Cross course prepares participants to respond to those in need with the confidence that comes from being trained in lifesaving CPR and first aid skills.<\/p>\n

In conjunction with Red Cross Month in March, a special “buy one class registration, get one free” promotion is being offered for this class. The first participant registers for the class at $55 and may bring a family member or friend for free; includes all participant materials for one person (additional materials for second person available for purchase). Participants may register by calling the Red Cross at (260) 484.9336 ext. 242 (bi-lingual staff member of Red Cross MIX program to assist).<\/p>\n
