Park Edelweiss to host Christkindlmarkt
Annual Christmas Market with a Taste of GermanyFort Wayne, Indiana (October 30, 2024) – A Christkindlmarkt will be held in Fort Wayne on Saturday, November 16th, starting at 9:00 a.m. to benefit the Fort Wayne Maennerchor/Damenchor. Park Edelweiss, located at 3355 Elmhurst Dr in Fort Wayne, will be the site of the event. Admission is free!
Come ready to shop for Christmas gifts and decorations of many sorts to fill your stockings and decorate your tree and home until 3:00 p.m. Search throughout the two-story clubhouse filled with many returning vendors and some new ones! Shop for arts and crafts, paintings, woodworking, candles, ornaments, scented oils, knitted and crocheted items, and many other items for gift giving and home decor.
Enjoy German baked goods and other delicacies while the kids look forward to a visit from Saint Nikolaus from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Still hungry while shopping? Enjoy a lunch of German Bratwurst, potato salad, hot dogs and a glass of Gluehwein (hot spiced wine).
The Fort Wayne Maennerchor/Damenchor is a Men’s and Women’s choir dedicated to the preservation and promotion of their German heritage as expressed in choral music.
Choir rehearsals are held at Park Edelweiss every Thursday evening from September through June:
- 7:30 p.m.: Damenchor
- 8:15 p.m.: Gemischt
- 8:45 p.m.: Maennerchor
Membership Meetings are held at 8:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month (following a gemischt rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.).
