The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred October 19th, 2024, in the 4900 block of Manistee Drive that left one person deceased and multiple others injured.

Details/Summary:

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigation a shooting incident that occurred tonight, Oct. 19th, 2024 around 10:25 pm in the area of 4900 Manistee Dr. that left one person deceased and multiple others injured. The FWPD received multiple calls of shots being fired in the area of 4900 Manistee Drive with reports that people were fleeing in all directions. FWPD officers responded to the chaotic scene as injured victims began arriving at local hospitals.

Preliminary information and witness accounts advise that a high school age party was occurring with numerous attendees when shots rang out at the party. Multiple party goers were struck, and one was pronounced deceased at the scene. It is unknown at this time, how many suspects were involved with the shooting. Currently 11 victims, to include the deceased victim have been confirmed thus far. It is believed that all other victims are in non-life threatening condition.

The FWPD is using all resources available to assists the injured victims and investigate this incident. This incident remains under investigation by the FWPD, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Coroner’s office.
