On October 8, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service located Kevin Lemar Weatherbe in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and took him into custody.

Details/Summary:

On November 8, 2020, a mother summoned an officer to her residence. Once there, FWPD Officer S. Munger, 1899 was informed that her minor child was a victim of child molesting. Prior to his promotion to Sergeant, Jason Crowder, then a detective assigned to the Crimes Against Person Section (CAPS) became the lead investigator. The minor child disclosed being molested by a family member named Kevin Weatherbe. The case was ultimately submitted to the Allen County Prosecutors Office which resulted in an Arrest Warrant for the listed charges. On October 8, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) located Mr. Weatherbe in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and took him into custody. Mr. Weatherbe is awaiting extradition back to Fort Wayne. The following agencies assisted the FWPD: the Indiana Department of Child Services, the Dr. Bill Lewis Center For Children, and our Federal partners from the USMS TF Philadelphia Office and the USMS GLRFTF Fort Wayne, Indiana Office.
