The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a death of young juvenile which occurred early in the morning of September 7, 2024 in the 1600 block of Melrose Avenue.

Details/Summary:
The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a death of young juvenile which occurred early in the morning of September 7, 2024. The police responded to the 1600 block of Melrose Ave around 6:45am to a report of a young juvenile child not breathing. First responders provided medical aid to the juvenile who was in critical condition at the scene. Medics transported the juvenile to an area hospital, and the juvenile was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation has not currently revealed any suspicious circumstances surrounding the young juvenile’s death. Per protocol, the death will continue to be investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Coroner’s Office, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
