A feasibility study on the future of the Allen County Jail will be the subject of a public hearing on Friday.

Jail Feasibility Study Subject of Public Hearing
Commissioners to take testimony Friday

(February 23, 2022) — A feasibility study on the future of the Allen County Jail will be the subject of a public hearing on Friday.

The Allen County Board of Commissioners will conduct the hearing starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom, Room 035, of Citizens Square, 200 East Berry Street.

The study details a projection of the county’s future jail needs, various alternatives to construction, reconstruction, and expansion of the jail, and an estimate of cost for each alternative. Public comment will only be taken on the contents of the study itself. No decisions will be made at the conclusion of the public hearing.
