Fort Wayne, Indiana (January 3, 2022) – Both Fort Wayne and South Bend experienced a top-ten warmest year in 2021. Records began in the 1890s at both sites. Hey, Fort Wayne: remember all that rain in the summer and fall? Well, it propelled us to one of the top-10 wettest years on record. Hey, South Bend: Did you miss the snow in 2021? Sure, there were a couple instances of lake effect snow, but snow was well below normal with only 39 inches observed in 2021.
