River levels to be adjusted for winter

This week, in preparation for winter, City Utilities will make the annual adjustments to lower the river levels by raising the Tainter gate at the Hosey Dam.

City of Fort Wayne news release:

Winter River Levels

Fort Wayne, Indiana (December 1, 2021) – This week, in preparation for winter, City Utilities will make the annual adjustments to lower the river levels by raising the Tainter gate at the Hosey Dam.

The annual lowering allows crews to expect and make any repairs needed to the river outfalls.

The river levels will stay at winter pool levels through mid-April.
