FWFD: House fire, Congress Avenue

Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 14, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 600 block of Congress Avenue at 3:29 pm.

The first firefighters to arrive on the scene found heavy fire coming through the roof of a small single-story residential structure. Fire crews found fire in the bedrooms, attic area, and roof. The fire was extinguished in approximately 10 minutes.

A search of the residence revealed no occupants.

The home suffered significant fire, smoke, and water damage. The fire was determined to have been intentionally started.

The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Indiana Michigan Power, City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, and the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
