Hazardous Heat Indices
High heat and humidity will lead to triple digit heat indices this week

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 9, 2021) – Humidity levels and heat indices continue to rise heading into midweek, making for an uncomfortable second week of August. With temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s, and dew points in the mid to upper 70s, this will lead to hazardous heat indices of 100-105 for the next few days. The high heat and humidity will also fuel chances for scattered showers and storms in the afternoon and evening hours Tuesday-Wednesday. If you are planning to spend time outdoors this week, make sure you stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and take frequent breaks to prevent heat exhaustion.
