On Sunday, July 25th at approximately 9:25 am officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the report of a bicyclist hit near the intersection of Hadley and Illinois Roads. Initially once on the scene the bicyclist was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries. Once at the hospital ER staff determined the adult male bicyclist had life threatening injuries. The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Team was on scene to officially investigate the crash. Witnesses at the scene reported the bicyclist to be traveling northbound on Hadley Road, passing through the intersection at Illinois Road on a reported steady red traffic signal when he was struck by the driver of a vehicle traveling westbound on Illinois Road. At this time the identity of the victim will not be released until he has been officially identified.
