Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 16, 2021) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to the 6100 block of Salge Drive on June 16, 2021, at 10:32 pm.
The occupant of a home had called 9-1-1 Wednesday night to report that the outside of their home was on fire. Firefighters arrived to find a house with the rear wall and roof on fire.
The occupant safely self-evacuated from the house.
Fire crews extinguished the fire and rescued one cat while searching the house for victims.
The cause of this fire incident is being investigated.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Indiana Michigan Power, and NIPSCO.
