Fort Wayne Sport Club to host Spaten Night
Germanfest Tradition Includes Soccer Tournament, German Food, Music and Dancing

Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 8, 2021) – Although there will not be a full-blown Germanfest celebration this year, the Fort Wayne Sport Club will still be hosting Spaten Night tomorrow, Tuesday, June 8th. We are anticipating a record crowd at our 3102 Ardmore Ave campus.

One of the activities for the evening will be a 6v6 adult soccer tournament. Be sure to sign your team up early (with email addresses) at www.1927fwsc.com as the tournament field will be limited to only the first 16 teams to register. Day-of registration begins at 5:00 p.m. with play getting underway at 6:00 p.m. The entry fee will be only $60.

Come into the Clubhouse for a cold beverage and some German-style food during, and following, the soccer tournament.

We are also very fortunate to have Jay Fox providing music from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. along with the Tanzers German folk dancers.

What’s left of our popular glass boots will also be for sale for only $15.

About the Fort Wayne Sport Club
The Fort Wayne Sport Club was founded in 1927 by an active group of soccer players who immigrated to the Fort Wayne area from Germany in the aftermath of World War I. Their immediate goal was ‘the promotion of football (soccer) and German culture’ in the Northeast Indiana area. Today, the Fort Wayne Sport Club is a hub of soccer activity, with programs for recreational and competitive soccer players from age 4-years to 60-and-over. “We are extremely proud of our long history and heritage of encouraging participation in soccer at all levels throughout the area,” stated Dan Kruse, President of Fort Wayne Sport Club. The Fort Wayne Sport Club is a member of Indiana Soccer, which is the state-wide representative of US Youth Soccer, US Adult Soccer and US Soccer. Since 1992, 73 people have been inducted into the Indiana Soccer Hall of Fame. Eight of those 73 are Fort Wayne Sport Club members, the most from any club in the state.
