The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a possible house fire in the 1900 block of Luther Street on June 3, 2021, at 1:17 pm.
The passerby stated they saw smoke coming from the roof of the house. When the first units arrived, they found moderate smoke coming from gable vents and dormers on a two-story residence.
The fire was found in the attic area and rapidly extinguished. An extensive overhaul of the attic was completed.
All occupants self-evacuated prior to the arrival of firefighters. The fire is under investigation.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Indiana Michigan Power, NIPSCO, City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, and the American Red Cross.
