Project Ballet Brings The Nutcracker in May to the Embassy Stage This Weekend

Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 10, 2021) – Project Ballet presents The Nutcracker in May this week on the Embassy stage. The six performance dates and times are as follows: Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m., Friday, May 14 at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 15 at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 16 at 1 and 6 p.m.

This production is for children, by children and about children. Now celebrating their seventeenth year, Project Ballet is a Fort Wayne based not-for-profit organization (www.projectballet.org). The Nutcracker is their largest annual production, featuring a cast of well over 100 local children. This year, the production has been modified to meet pandemic protocols. The cast size has been reduced by 40%. The choreography has been altered. Rehearsals were often conducted remotely. Musical interludes have been added to aid in safety behind-the-scenes. And, the production has been postponed for five months.

The organization wants to reiterate that the arts, entertainment and event industries have been very hard hit. Project Ballet is grateful for the opportunity to perform live this week, despite all odds.

TICKETS: $42, $35 and $29 (adult), plus applicable fees, can be purchased at ticketmaster.com and the STAR Bank box office at the Embassy (260.424.5665) at 125 West Jefferson Boulevard, Fort Wayne.

A Note about COVID-19 Protocols: Effective May 1, all staff, volunteers, contracted workers, production staff and vendors will continue to wear masks/facial coverings. Masks are recommended and encouraged for patrons and guests. Social distancing rules of 3 feet should be followed at all times; seating charts and floorplans are designed to accommodate this guideline. All events have limited capacity. The Embassy has thorough protocols and staff training in place to reduce exposure to COVID-19. The organization has designed one-way traffic patterns, developed paperless and touchless interactions whenever possible and follows rigorous cleaning and sanitizing schedules. Patrons are asked to assess their health before arriving and stay home if ill, experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or if they are in a high-risk category. While the Embassy works hard to reduce exposure to COVID-19, the public is assuming the inherent risk of possible exposure.
