MLK Memorial Bridge

Indiana Department of Transportation news release announcing construction work on the downtown Fort Wayne MLK Memorial Bridge.

Work to begin on Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bridge

Allen County, Indiana (April 14, 2021) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures and restrictions on U.S. 27/Clinton Street in Fort Wayne.

Crews will complete a bridge deck overlay on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bridge starting on or after April 19 with work expected to last into early May.

During construction, traffic will be down to one lane and drivers should be alert of lane shifts between Jacobs Avenue and Superior Street.

INDOT asks drivers to use patience while driving in the area as congestion and delays are expected. Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and travel distraction-free in and around all work zones.

All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
