Today’s Fort Wayne, Indiana weather story from the National Weather Service warning of an Elevated Fire Danger this afternoon.
Elevated Fire Danger
Outdoor burning not recommended todayFort Wayne, Indiana (April 3, 2021) – Despite recent rainfall and cool temperatures, fine fuels such as grass and brush continue to rapidly dry due to low relative humidity values. Gusty southwest winds as high as 35 mph as well as warmer afternoon temperatures in the 60s will increase the risk for any fires to spread rapidly out of control. Given these factors burning is not recommended today. If you must burn (and the area you live allows it), do not leave the fire unattended, have a reliable means to extinguish the fire ready and make sure any fires are fully extinguished.
