Overnight lane closures planned for Allen County
Allen County, Indiana (March 26, 2021) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces overnight lane closures on I-69 starting on or after March 29, 2021.
Crews will be conducting pavement coring and soil borings for Geotechnical Analysis of I-69 pavement and underlying soil conditions.
The work is happening from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday from mile marker 311 to south of mile marker 317 and will last approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
During the work, 2 lanes of I-69 will be closed with only one direction being worked on each night. Access to and from I-69 will be maintained during working hours.
INDOT reminds motorists to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.

In 2019, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reported that distracted driving from mobile devices was a factor in at least 1,263 crashes and three fatal crashes. To make Hoosier roads safer, Governor Eric J. Holcomb signed the Indiana Hands-Free law to reduce distracted driving across the state. Beginning July 1, 2020, drivers are prohibited from holding a mobile device, except in emergencies, while their vehicles are moving.
