FWFD: House fire, Decatur Road
Fort Wayne, Indiana (February 26, 2021) – On February 26, 2021, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 6100 block of Decatur Road at 3:46 pm. On arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire coming from a small one-story residential structure.
All occupants had self-evacuated. The firefighters made a quick search of the house, but found nothing and extinguished the fire quickly.
There were no injuries and the American Red Cross was assisting the family.
The cause of the accident was determined to be an accidental cooking fire with the heaviest damage to the kitchen.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Indiana Michigan Power, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code.
