Join the History Center virtually for “Bob Chase Celebrated”

Fort Wayne Indiana (December 28, 2020) – On Sunday, January 3, 2021, the History Center will resume the George R. Mather Sunday Lecture Series. “Bob Chase Celebrated” will be presented by Blake Sebring. For 63 years Bob Chase might have been the last voice many of us heard before going to sleep as the voice of the Fort Wayne Komets or one of the first we heard the next morning doing the sports reports on WOWO AM Radio. Until his death in 2016 at age 90, Chase’s popularity in Northeast Indiana was almost mythological. Longtime Fort Wayne sportswriter, author and Chase biographer Blake Sebring will be sharing his favorite stories about and from Chase.

Due to recent COVID-19 health restrictions, in-person lectures will not be offered to visitors. The lecture will be held at 2:00 pm and patrons may receive the access link to the virtual lecture by contacting the History Center in advance at administration@fwhistorycenter.org. All George R. Mather lectures are made possible through the generous support of the Floyd and Betty Lou Lancia Family Foundation and Indiana Humanities.
