Fort Wayne Fire Department news release:
House fire, Oneida Street
(December 6, 2020) – Fort Wayne Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 1415 Oneida on December 6, 2020, at 2:37 pm.
The first units arrived in 3 minutes and found smoke coming from the home. Firefighters conducted an interior fire attack with a simultaneous aggressive search for occupants. Firefighters found a fire in the living room of the home, as well as one occupant who had perished. The fire was limited to the living room and under control in 8 minutes.
Fort Wayne Fire Investigators will remain on the scene, investigating the fire.
Fort Wayne firefighters were assisted on the scene by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Indiana Michigan Power, and NIPSCO.
