House fire, Shady Lane
(April 19, 2020) – Fort Wayne firefighters responded to a reported house fire in the 7200 block of Shady Lane. Initial arriving units found fire on the exterior of the house. The fire was contained to the exterior of the house and a wooden fence. The fire was extinguished in approximately five minutes. Two occupants were home at the time of the fire and self evacuated with no injuries. The fire was caused by hot coals from a BBQ grill dumped out before they cooled completely. Firefighters were assisted by FWPD, TRAA, NCE, NIPSCO and AEP.
