NewAllen Alliance news release:
NewAllen Alliance Encourages Communities to Ring Bells at Noon on Easter.
EAST ALLEN COUNTY, IN (April 9, 2020) – The NewAllen Alliance is asking East Allen Community residents, churches and community groups to participate in Ringing of the Bells at noon on Easter Sunday. Given that residents will be modifying their Easter celebrations this year due to the COVID-19 Crisis, NewAllen is promoting that communities come together to support and encourage each other during Indiana’s Stay-At-Home order.
As stated by NewAllen Rural Liaison, Kristi Sturtz, “At our heart, NewAllen is about community collaboration. We are asking residents, churches and any other organization throughout East Allen County to demonstrate to our community members that we are in this together. We are hoping that at noon on Easter, East Allen will be filled with 10-15 minutes of music.”
Suggested ways community members can participate in this event includes:
- Churches ringing bells or projecting instrumental music
- Individuals performing music and ringing bells from their porches
- Using existing home items for bells including wind chimes or Christmas decorations
