Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation news release:

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Closed Facilities

(April 9, 2020) – The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is reminding the public about the closures of most of its facilities to promote social distancing and prevent additional spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Currently Open:

  • All 87 Fort Wayne parks: general park grounds and trails are open
  • Camp Canine and Pawster Park dog parks

NOTE: Although these spaces are open at this time, that status could change as the situation continues to evolve. All visitors using parks and trails are strongly urged to follow CDC guidelines to protect themselves and others. If these spaces are being used for group gatherings, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation may be forced to make further closures.

Currently CLOSED:

  • All Parks and Recreation offices
  • Community Centers
  • Youth Centers
  • Golf Courses
  • All athletic courts (tennis, basketball, futsal, pickleball courts)
  • Botanical Conservatory
  • Park Pavilions

Citizens are asked to respect the signage posted at our parks and to avoid these spaces in this ongoing effort to protect themselves and their fellow citizens. These areas are closed until further notice, and updates will be available on our website, FortWayneParks.org or at Facebook.com/FortWayneParks.
