Health Commissioner Amends March 21 Order to Avoid Confusion with Governor’s Stay-at-Home Requirements
(March 24, 2020) – To avoid any confusion with the Indiana governor’s stay-at-home requirements, the order issued by the Allen County Health Commissioner earlier this week limiting the size of gatherings was amended Tuesday to expire.
“In hopes of protecting the health of the public and slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 in the community, I issued an order intended to limit gatherings greater than 10 people in various situations,” said Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Deborah McMahan. “Because of the governor’s forward-thinking leadership seeking the same outcome, and in an effort to avoid any confusion on which order to follow, I am amending my order to expire Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.”
Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb issued a stay-at-home order Monday, which also goes into effect Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. and prohibits large gatherings of more than 10 people.
