St. Patrick’s Day at Deer Park

News release from Deer Park Irish Pub:

Saint Patrick’s Day Celebrations at Deer Park Irish Pub
22nd Annual “Clover Classic” – March 14 – 17, 2020

(February 28, 2020) – Top of the mornin’ to ya! Whether you’re Irish by blood, or just enjoy green beer, the Deer Park Irish Pub is ready to help you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with four full days of Irish revelry. It’s their 22nd Annual and they are stepping it up! Events start on Saturday March 14th and run through Tuesday March 17th.

For 22 years, Deer Park Irish Pub has led The People’s Parade, famed as being the world’s shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m. As luck would have it, our Grand Marshal this year will be Sister Elyse Kriss, USF President. Realizing that Sister Elyse will be retiring in a few months, Publican Tony Henry, owner of Deer Park, reached out and asked if Sister Elyse would adorn the green jacket and lead the parade with the bag pipers. She enthusiastically agreed. Both Tony Henry and Sister Elyse attended St. Louis University in the early 1980s. Little did they know that they would be working across the street from each other these last two decades. They continue to forge a strong friendship! Henry feels that it is only fitting that she lead the parade around the Deer Park addition before she retires.
