The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5:00 pm until noon Thursday.

Today’s weather story from the National Weather Service:

Snowfall forecast through Thursday morning
Commutes affected: This evening and Thursday morning

(February 12, 2020) – Snow will overspread the area south of U.S. 30 through the afternoon hours and continue to spread northward through the entire region late this afternoon through the evening hours. The heaviest snowfall rates will be between 8 PM through midnight. While the snow will taper in intensity Thursday morning, the snow is expected to impact the Thursday morning commute. Strong northwest to north winds and high wave action will cause beach erosion and lakeshore flooding Thursday into Thursday night Much colder air will move in behind this storm system with lows in the single digits Thursday night and highs struggling through the teens on Friday. More normal temperatures will return for Saturday into next week.
