Hazardous winter weather later today into Thursday
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 5:00 pm ET today to 10am Thursday
(February 5, 2020) – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 5 pm EST today through 10 am Thursday for all counties (visit our website for details). Snow will lift from south to north across the entire area this afternoon and continue into Thursday. Locations north of US 24 will see all snow, with around 2 to 4 inches of snow expected through 2 pm Thursday. Areas along and south of US 24, and east of US 31 will see snow transition to sleet and freezing rain from south to north starting after 7 pm this evening, and continuing through roughly 11 am Thursday.
Expect a transition back to all snow late Thursday morning before precipitation finally tapers off Thursday afternoon. In this area, expect 1 to 2 inches of snow and a glaze of ice. Locations along and southeast of a line from Lima Ohio to Portland Indiana (pink line on map) could see ice amounts up to a tenth of an inch.
