Newly elected City Council At-Large Councilwoman Michelle Chambers announces first community engagement initiative
- Councilwoman Chambers is immediately going to work for the community, with an open-door policy
- Casual Community Conversations will take place Quarterly in four Quadrants in an open forum;
- Get involved, share your thoughts, concerns and opinions
(January 7, 2020) – City Council At Large Councilwoman, Michelle Chambers invites you and your family, friends and neighbors to join her for the first installment of “Casual Community Conversations.” Each quarter, beginning this March 14 and March 21, Councilwoman Chambers wants to invite you to have a citywide community dialogue. This open forum is intended to create an atmosphere of transparency in Fort Wayne and allow residents to address their concerns, issues and share recommendations.
Sworn in on January 1, 2020 and taking an oath to serve the city at large, Chambers spoke openly to her fellow community and constituents by expressing her desire to “work collectively to have more constituents at the table.” She recently said, “Let’s talk, Fort Wayne — You don’t want to miss the Casual Community Conversations… we are going to actively talk with one another! I’m looking forward to representing you as your Councilwoman, where change is possible with a collective voice.”
