Suwinski Extends Hitting Streak in Road Trip Finale
EASTLAKE, Ohio (August 10, 2018) – The TinCaps came up short in their bid to sweep the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians affiliate) on Friday night at Classic Park as the Captains prevailed, 3-1. After that, though, Captains (19-27, 48-68) right-handed starter Jean Carlos Mejia settled in and more or less cruised through seven innings.
Lake County equalized in the second with a Jose Vicente solo home run.
The scored remained tied, 1-1, into the sixth inning. The Captains banged out three doubles in the home sixth to grab a 3-1 lead.
Fort Wayne threated with the bases full in the ninth but came up empty. The TinCaps went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight on base, plus had a runner thrown out at home in the fifth.
