News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, Leith Street
(August 7, 2018) – Tonight, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to the 200 block of West Leith Street at 7:52 pm for a reported house fire.
The first unit on the scene found heavy smoke and fire coming from a window on the second floor. The occupants on the first floor escaped the home before crews arrived. The fire was brought under control 14 minutes.
There was heavy damage to the second floor and moderate water damage to the first floor. No one was injured while controlling this fire.
The Fire Department was assisted by Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, and the Fort Wayne Police Department.
