Park Center to become Parkview affiliate

News release from Parkview Health:

Park Center, Inc. to become an affiliate of Parkview Health

(July 27, 2018) – Beginning Oct. 1, 2018, Park Center, Inc. will become an affiliate of Parkview Health, working in tandem with Parkview Behavioral Health (PBH) and Parkview Physicians Group (PPG) to create a comprehensive continuum of mental health care. Park Center, a community mental health center, has several facilities in Fort Wayne, as well as locations in Bluffton and Decatur.

“This affiliation will multiply the opportunities we have to impact the health of our communities,” said Paul Wilson, president and CEO, Park Center, Inc. “Park Center’s mission is to provide quality care and support to our clients, promoting wellness and healing for all ages and at every stage of recovery. Working alongside Parkview, we can expand that mission and do more for those in need of behavioral care.”

Park Center and PBH will work closely to integrate services where appropriate. Additional priorities include creating greater access to mental health services, enhancing clinic processes, coordinating addiction treatment programs and making capital investments in select Park Center facilities.

“As a community-owned organization, we strive to be responsive to the changing needs of the region,” said Mike Packnett, president and CEO, Parkview Health. “When it comes to mental health, access to care and resources has never been more important. This affiliation will allow PBH and PPG to better integrate their care with Park Center’s and meet patients where they are in their health journey.”

Chuck Clark, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Parkview Behavioral Health, said, “The Park Center affiliation is a natural evolution of the strong partnership Parkview and Park Center have had over the years, with PBH’s focus on inpatient services and Park Center’s focus on outpatient and community services. This affiliation is a tremendous opportunity to build on the strengths of both organizations to provide access to a full continuum of high quality, convenient and coordinated behavioral healthcare services.”

Park Center employs approximately 500 people in Adams, Allen and Wells Counties.
