Critical Injury Shooting

Date: Thursday, April 6, 2017

Time: 7:50 p.m.

Location: 700 block of Huffman Street

Victims: (2) Males Both Critical Condition

Details:

Fort Wayne police responded to the 700 block of Huffman Street at approximately 7:50 p.m. on the report of multiple gunshots being heard in the area. Officers arrived on the scene but could not find a victim. However, individuals in the area indicated that they observed what they believed to have been a victim of a shooting leaving in a passenger car. A short time later a local hospital called to report that a shooting victim had arrived at their facility. The victim, a male was determined to be in critical condition. It is believed that this male was the person seen leaving the Huffman Street Location.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. officers responded to the intersection of Masterson and Barr Streets after a 911 caller reported a shooting victim in a passenger car at that location. Once on scene officers located a male victim. He was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition. It was determined that both shooting victims, the victim that arrived by private conveyance at a local hospital and the victim located at Masterson Avenue and Barr Streets were related to the original call reporting shots fired in the 700 block of Huffman Street. It should be noted that two traffic stops were conducted on vehicles that were believed to have left the Huffman Street location and the individuals detained were being interviewed by detectives. At this time no arrest has been made nor has there been a motive established. Names of the victims will be released once positive identification has been made and families notified.
