NWS: Active pattern continues this week

Tonight's NWS Weather Story for April 2, 2017.

Tonight’s weather story from the National Weather Service:

Active pattern continues
Seasonable temperatures throughout the week

Heavy rain could lead to flooding

  • Area rivers will continue to rise – some are already in the minor flood stage
  • Be aware of flood prone areas and take precautions

(April 2, 2017) – The active pattern continues as chances for rain occur Monday and Wednesday/Thursday. In addition, some thunder is possible Monday and Wednesday.

Currently, some rivers are already in flood stage and those rises on area rivers will continue with the incoming rain. As a result, watch out for flooding in normally flood prone areas like low-lying and poorly drained locations. As the low pressure system leaves on Thursday, enough cold air could come in later in the day and continue into the overnight so that we could see snow mix in with the rain.
