She’s about to bloom!
The Fort Wayne Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory has a couple of Amorphophallus plants on display. This one is in the front lobby and close, if not already blooming. Saturday afternoon, we stopped in and Director Chad Shaw shared it had grown an inch and three-quarters that morning alone.
We are partnering with the Conservatory and have placed the AFW time lapse camera on the other plant on display. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of both plans as well as share the time lapse video when it is ready.
BTW, do you know what odor and the reason for this odor, that the plant produces when it blooms? Check out this pdf for more information.
