News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, Grant Avenue
(March 16, 2017) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1300 block of Grant Avenue. Upon arrival, the first fire unit found heavy fire involvement in the rear of the home. After initial knockdown of the fire, crews extinguished the remaining fire from inside the home. The also performed search and rescue operations and salvage and overhaul operations. The fire was under control in 10 minutes.
No occupants were reported to be home at the time of the fire.
The home suffered heavy fire damage and moderate smoke and water damage.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, NIPSCO, Indiana Michigan Power, and Neighborhood Code Enforcement.
