A News release from the Fort Wayne Police Department:

Attempted Robbery Suspect wanted

On February 28, 2017, at about 12:20 p.m., an adult male black entered the T-Mobile Store located at 10140 Maysville Road and told the employee a story about his wife’s phone being kept in their safe. This was an attempt to trick the employee into opening the store safe. The employee recognized the man as being the same person who shoplifted a pair of Beat’s brand headphone the weekend before. The employee walked to the back room to call 911. The suspect followed the employee with his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon and again demanded that the employee opened the safe. The employee said he was on the phone with 911 and the man exited the store and fled in a gold 1990’s Lincoln Continental with an Indiana handicap plate. There was a black female passenger in the car.

The suspect is described as; black male, 6’00” to 6’03” tall, medium to heavy build. Older, between 50-55 years old, black coat, black fedora style hat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).
