Today’s weather story from the National Weather Service:
Cold into Saturday, warming up next week
Chance of snow late tonight into early Saturday
(March 3, 2017) – Another day of much below normal temperatures is in store for the region with highs struggling through the 20s into the lower 30s. Lake effect snow showers will quickly diminish this morning. Away from the lake most locations will see mostly sunny skies, with other spots eventually seeing clearing but not until this afternoon.
Clouds will move back in tonight ahead of a weak system that may bring some light snow to the area. No significant accumulations are expected but some slick spots will be possible on area roads.
Whatever snow falls late tonight into early Saturday will melt Saturday afternoon as temperatures climb above freezing with the warmest readings in the southwest.
Even warmer temperatures will be in store for Sunday as highs will climb into the lower 50s for most spots.
