Critical Stabbing Investigation

Details:
On Friday, 10/28/2016, at approximately 9:08 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Fairfield Avenue reference the report of a domestic battery in progress. The caller told dispatch they heard a physical struggle and a female screaming. Officers arrived on scene and located a female victim suffering from apparent stab wounds. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.
Preliminary information indicates this incident was the result of a domestic dispute. Witnesses reported the suspect fled the scene on foot prior to the officers’ arrival. Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses. Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene and collecting evidence. There is no suspect information to provide at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
