The Fort Wayne Indoor Announces Summit City Rock the Ramp
This One-Day Festival Is An Opportunity to Help Fort Wayne Indoor Support The Youth of Fort Wayne’s Skate and Bike Community(September 30, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Indoor in partnership with Summit City Bicycles and Living Fort Wayne, announced that the 2nd annual action sports festival in Fort Wayne will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 4pm on 4th Street, spanning between Wallace Street and Williams Street. Tickets for Summit City Rock the Ramp will be available for purchase the day of the event.
The purpose of this 2nd annual event is to raise funds to support Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park. The Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park (FWI) is a 501c(3) not for profit organization serving the BMX and skate community of Northeast Indiana. The FWI provides the youth of Fort Wayne the opportunity to build an inclusive community through their custom built indoor facility. They also host local competitions and events throughout the year.
“We are thrilled to announce that 15-year-old X-Games athlete and recent winner of multiple international contests Girl, Hannah Roberts will be performing at the event,” said Rich Hoppe of The Fort Wayne Indoor “This high school aged girl has quickly gained attention over the past 5 years she has been riding. In fact, the magnoliaBMX website has called her ‘the future of BMX.’.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. with the first of two BMX Demonstration set for 4:15pm. The day will include a $500 cash prize skateboard competition by Strahm Building Solutions inside Lawton Skatepark that allow the skating talent to put their skill and style on display, the local skate competition showcasing local talent and a raffle featuring donations from many local companies. There will be DJ’s playing throughout the day and into the evening with a after party on 4th street till 11pm featuring local DJ and Skateboarder Dap One – Nick’s Martini & Wine Bar along with the Rib Room will operate a Beer tent and food trucks Big Apple Pizza and Bravas will be on hand.
