Missing Child Investigation
(September 23, 2016) – The City of Fort Wayne Police Department is currently searching for a missing child. Aniyah Recht is a 5-year-old female/black. She was last seen at approximately 2:55 PM this afternoon walking home from Abbett Elementary School located at 4325 Smith Street. Aniyah was scheduled to walk to her home located in the 4000 block of Weisser Park Avenue. Smith Street and Weisser Park Avenue are both located in the southeast quadrant of the city.
Aniyah is approximately 3’6″ tall and weighs approximately 40 pounds. She has short braids in her hair with multi-colored beads. Two possible clothing descriptions were provided for Aniyah. The first clothing description is a red, black, and white Minnie Mouse shirt with blue jeans. The second clothing description is a pink shirt with a puppy design and a black and white skirt with a zigzag print. In addition, Aniyah is missing her lower front middle tooth.
Investigators consider Aniyah to be in danger due to her age. At approximately 4:50 PM this afternoon a Missing Child Alert was activated. Two photographs of Aniyah have been attached to this e-mail.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Aniyah is asked to immediately contact the Fort Wayne Police Department at 427-1222 or simply dial 911.
