Today’s weather story from the National Weather Service:
Above normal temps this week
Normal highs in the lower 70s for late September
(September 19, 2016) – A frontal boundary will attempt to work into the western Great Lakes this afternoon and tonight, but likely have little overall impact on the immediate area other than an increase in clouds later tonight into Tuesday. The front will retreat to the west and make another run at the area towards the weekend.
Southwesterly winds will keep pumping in unseasonably warm air for mid to late September with highs generally in the lower to middle 80s through the week, roughly 10 to 15 degrees above normal. Humidity values will come up slightly, but not enough to cause heat indices to be much higher than forecasted temperatures. Farmers should have excellent working conditions to begin harvest for those crops ready to go.
