Season Ends for TinCaps on Road

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (September 6, 2016) – The TinCaps’ 2016 season ended with a 13-2 loss to the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays) at Bowling Green Ballpark on Labor Day afternoon.

Shortstop Chris Baker and center fielder Taylor Kohlwey each drove in a run for Fort Wayne (26-44, 62-78) in the seventh and ninth innings, respectively.

The Hot Rods (47-23, 84-55), though, had built a 13-0 lead with eight runs in the second inning – powered in part by a pair of three-run homers – plus two more in the third and three in the fourth.

Cal Quantrill (L, 0-1) started for the TinCaps, while Roel Ramirez (W, 7-8) went a season-long 6 1/3 innings for the Hot Rods, who ended their season with a franchise record for wins.

Opening Day 2017 for Fort Wayne is set for Thursday, April 6 at Lansing. The TinCaps will begin their 2017 home schedule on Saturday, April 8 (6:05 p.m.) against Lansing at Parkview Field.
