BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (September 4, 2016) – The TinCaps lost to the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays), 7-0, on Saturday night at Bowling Green Ballpark.

After back-to-back 10-inning games the last two nights at home against Great Lakes, the TinCaps (26-42, 62-76) managed only two hits in the opener of their final series of the season. Fort Wayne also drew seven walks.

Hot Rods starter Blake Bivens (W, 8-4) went the first six innings in the shutout. On the other side, TinCaps starter Emmanuel Ramirez (L, 2-3) surrendered four earned runs in five frames.

Evan Miller, the Fort Wayne Mastodons alum, threw 2/3 of an inning out of the Fort Wayne bullpen and struck out a pair.

Bowling Green (45-23, 82-55) built its lead with a run in the second, two in the third, and another in each the fourth and fifth to make it 5-0 before a couple of insurance runs in the eighth.

The TinCaps have played seven consecutive games that have gone at least 3 hours. This is the second time in the last two months that Fort Wayne has played seven straight 3-hour games.
