Indiana Forum on Monday, August 22nd is Opportunity to Connect with Local and Federal Officials, and Diplomats from Around the World

(August 12, 2016) – Representatives throughout local and federal government are coming to Fort Wayne, Monday, August 22 as part of a day-long forum to discuss perspectives on business innovation in sectors ranging from aerospace/defense engineering to vehicle and medical device manufacturing to agriculture and advanced technologies, in addition to entrepreneurship, sustainable development, education, and the role of religion in global affairs.

The Indiana Forum will be held at the Grand Wayne Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd.

In addition to U.S. Senator Dan Coats, a number of mayors, county commissioners, and state officials will be in attendance along with foreign diplomats from Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Federal officials scheduled to take part in the Forum include:

The Indiana Forum steering committee is comprised of representatives from the office of Sen. Dan Coats and community leaders from all parts of Indiana. The Forum will be amplified by the U.S. State Department “Engage America” initiative and Cities@State network – a whole of government, global approach to strengthen inclusive prosperity and security by way of exploring opportunities for local communities.

“The Indiana Forum will offer businesses from a variety of sectors vital opportunity to interact directly with federal agencies to facilitate international trade and domestic business expansion,” said Indiana Forum executive committee member Ric Zehr of the North Eastern Group. “We are honored to have this caliber of officials and diplomats to create new connections and strengthen the economy of our state.”

The event will start with a welcome breakfast at 8:30 a.m. It will transition to break-out roundtable sessions for the remainder of the morning with participation from officials and subject matter experts. The lunch and breakfast will feature keynote speakers to be announced in the coming days. The roundtables will conclude at the Grand Wayne Center with executive reports and remarks to the entire group. Immediately following, there will be an Innovation Exhibit and dinner at the Joseph Decuis Farm featuring a versatile showcase of Hoosier-related innovations past, present, and future, as a celebration of the Bicentennial with former National Football League player and Pro Football Hall of Famer Curtis Martin and other high-profile figures.
